Lift Away Your Hot Flashes

A new study out earlier this year showed that a moderate program of resistance training just three times a week reduced the frequency of hot flashes by 43%.

Participants in the study performed a program of eight exercises, with two sets of 8-12 repetitions each. The weight for each exercise was increased gradually over a 15-week period.  While a decrease in the frequency of hot flashes (the participants all had a baseline frequency of seven hot flashes per day at the start of the study), there were secondary outcomes as well: a slight decrease in the severity of hot flashes and an increase in overall physical activity/energy.  And this is three times a week!

More proof that it is possible to not just manage, but to CRUSH the symptoms of menopause without resorting to hormone replacement therapy.  Listening to your body and making overall health and fitness a priority is a clear path to enjoying life as you enter menopause.
